Features

CLOSED SYSTEM

  • It's filled, then sealed. There's no need to keep adding water. The Aqua-Therm will operate at the same pressure and temperature as any L.P. or electric boiler. (Normally 15 psi at 160-180 degrees).
  • Fewer problems with mineral buildup. Water exposed to air is what causes problems in a heating system; circulation, corrosion, heat transfer, chemical maintenance, bacteria build-up, etc.
  • Can use a gas/oil/electric boiler as back-up systems for those times when you're away without the added expense of heat exchangers and complicated piping.
  • The closed system advantage of the Aqua-Therm lets you tie directly into your existing hot water heating system. Ask any heating or plumbing professional why a closed system is THE BEST WAY.
  • SAFETY! Closed systems are protected by redundant ASME approved relief systems – no system is as safe as an approved closed system.

LESS WATER

Aqua-Therm uses less water than most major brands. Less water is more efficient; just ask any plumbing & heating professional. High efficiency electric and LP boilers have less than 5 gallons of water. By using fewer gallons, it is affordable to use antifreeze to protect your wood burner and underground lines. Heat recovery is faster too!

EASY OPERATION/ASH AUGER

  • Large firebox is easy to fill. Wood doesn't have to be cut so short. Extra large door makes it easy to put logs in and they don't have to be split.
  • To take ashes out, open the ash door. Insert the crank and turn. The Aqua-Therms handy auger will pull the ashes from the entire length of the firebox. No need to shovel ashes by hand or use a clumsy removable auger.

FORCED AIR DRAFT

  • A forced air draft is used to bring combustion air into the fire. In the Aqua-Therm, the air comes in underneath the grates for a more complete, uniform burn. The forced draft is superior to a natural draft because:
  • Chimney height doesn't affect the burn.
  • Faster heat recovery.
  • Doesn't smolder. It either burns hot or shuts down.
  • Hotter fire will burn almost any material - even green wood.

Sheltered or Non-Sheltered Option

Aqua-Therm gives you the option of using your own shelter or a fully sheltered unit that comes ready to go to work outside. You may choose the non-sheltered if you have an existing building suited to house the unit, want to keep your Aqua-Therm and wood together inside out of the rain and snow, tend your stove in out of the weather, or you simply want to save money by constructing your own shelter. The non-sheltered unit comes with an insulation kit and all the hardware you need to put it in your wood shed and with the Aqua-Therm the choice is yours: sheltered or non-sheltered.

STAINLESS STEEL FIREBOX

For added life, the Aqua-Therm has an all stainless steel firebox.  Stainless is standard on our stoves; not an expensive option. This high quality material is strong and corrosion resistant. It has a round firebox and oval door. This design eliminates corner stress points preventing cracking. Models 275 and 345 have a 3/16" stainless steel firebox. The firebox thickness on the Model 145 is 1/8". The outer jacket on all models is 10 gauge steel.
